If you like Dungeons and Dragons or Diablo, you will enjoy this game as well. You have a choice of three different characters to play: Arcane Archer, Dwarven Fighter or an Elven Sorceress. Similar to D&D, you start with a main mission – save Baldur’s Gate from a mysterious evil. There are also smaller missions that earn you experience points and gold.
In Dark Alliance, you travel through different areas and get teleported to other worlds in order to fight more and more monsters. You also pick up lots of gold, which enables you to buy better and better weapons. Magic weapons are handed over after defeating larger and larger monsters, some of which produce cool effects like fire or lightning when swung. Similar to Diablo, you can teleport back to a safe area (town), but unlike Diablo it is a one way teleportation channel. Overall Dark Alliance is loads of fun. I completed it as the Dwarf and am now ready to log on another 13 hours as the Elf
